After earning a bachelors degree from Baylor University, with an emphasis in performance, he played trumpet professionally for 20 years. Marcades, a native of Dallas, earned a master s degree in conducting and sacred music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kentucky. He then completed his Ph.D. in Choral Conducting at Texas Tech University. He served on the faculty at Texas Tech University School of Music and Columbus State University Schwob School of Music.

It’s a history that many don’t want lost. Town Meeting member and lifelong Milfordian Joseph DiAntonio, 81, remembers growing up in a musical heaven. He took clarinet lessons from Mussulli after Boots came home from playing alto saxophone with Stan Kenton’s famous orchestra, touring the country with Curran and another Milford man, George Morte, who both worked as road managers.

The story lines in this season have been taut, as Don Draper’s philandering has gotten him thrown out of the house; Roger Sterling’s life has taken a change, and the whole future of the agency seems to be in question, even as the Cuban Missile Crisis simmers outdoors. The season has been a coming out for Peggy, so wonderfully played by Elisabeth Moss. She’s risen from the starter secretary last year to a copywriter trying to find her way among the boys’ club of the creative team this year.

THE BODY BEAUTIFUL [Original Cast 6231] The Body Beautiful opened at the Broadway in January 1958 and closed after eight weeks, leaving nary a trace. The competition was brisk — The Music Man , Jamaica , New Girl in Town , and West Side Story were all recent arrivals, with My Fair Lady still the monster hit in town — leaving the boxing-themed musical a mere contender. Coming from all-but-unknown authors and producers and without any stars, The Body Beautiful didn’t even merit a cast recording.

The coming week brings an ending and a new beginning for two popular music series at the Columbia Museum of Art. Charles Wadsworth is hosting the first concert of the last season of his chamber music series at the museum (as well as at the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden). Meanwhile, the Baker and Baker concert series, one of the longest-running classical music offerings in the city, is getting a facelift and a new name: Art of Music.
