The Beatles and much, much more
The Guinness Book of World Records heralds the English city as the “World Capital of Pop,” and Liverpool’s Wall of Fame on Mathew Street memorializes the 54 Liverpool tunes that hit No. 1 on the charts since 1951, more per capita for this city of 450,000 people than any other city. All year long Liverpool will keep its decks cleared for Beatles fans.
Two-hour “Magical Mystery Tours” will depart daily from The Beatles Story museum in the city’s harbor, crossing Strawberry Field and Penny Lane before tying up at the Cavern Club where the Beatles made their debut in 1961. There’s even the perfect place to stay — the new Beatles-themed Hard Day’s Night Hotel.
