From the first chord of the first song, the kids in the pit were raucous. There were two kinds of people: those moshing and crowd surfing independently of the music being played, and those who couldn’t really focus on the music and instead devoted their attention to protecting themselves from the moshers, crowd surfers, flying shoes and flying water bottles.

When this sort of scene unfolds, it overshadows the music — and sometimes, the accompanying reviews — which is a shame because the Bouncing Souls played a pretty good set.
