Indianapolis - One of the biggest singers in Latin music was laid to rest Wednesday on the city s west side. A mariachi band played “Back Home Again in Indiana” during the burial of Sergio Gomez. A huge crowd attended the gravesite service for the 35-year-old singer who lived in Avon. Gomez was killed earlier this month after performing with his group K-Paz de la Sierra in Mexico. Investigators believe Gomez was an innocent victim of rival gangs who have a history of attacking musicians.

Gomez was originally from Mexico but moved his family to Indiana several years ago.
