For all the club kids out there searching for a type of dance club that plays nothing but the awesome sounds of alternative rock, look no further than Club Luna.

Voted the “best dance club” by Metro Times and “best bar to hear alternative” by Real Detroit Weekly, Royal Oak’s Club Luna is the perfect place for punk cravers to get their groove on. When guests walk in, they are hit with bright lights, fog machine mist and a dance floor full of people rocking to today’s best alternative music. Luna is not your typical dance club. DJ’s in most clubs in the metro Detroit area predominantly play pop, hip-hop or house music.

Club Luna offers a wide range of alterative, punk and electronica music to keep people on the dance floor all night long. “Luna is an awesome club,” says Amber Wallace, a regular at Luna. “This is the only club that plays my kind of music, and I don’t have some guy trying to bump and grind on me like at most clubs out there.” What also sets Luna aside from other dance clubs is the choice of “theme” nights. Club Luna ensures that there is something for their patrons from Tuesday to Saturday.

Tuesday nights offer “video appreciation” which honors a particular band by playing their music and viewing their videos. Wednesday nights provide guests a chance to listen to industrial and electronica music. Thursday nights pay tribute to the 80’s by playing nothing but new wave. Those into the 80’s tunes should head up to Luna and go all out - dig out those leg warmers, sweat bands and tease the hair for the full experience.
