Local rockers putting on holiday concert
Performing will be: ‘ў Numbers, a rock band including Dusty Jostes, Carl Thompson, Mike Bang and Dylan Dorsey, all members of the RWHS class of 2007; Lexi Kays, class of 2006; and Danny Bell, class of 2009. According to Brown, the band plays ‘њrock with a different feel ‘” piano, distorted guitar and full band.’ќ Their musical influences are Incubus and Tool, along with two others on the Dec. 29 bill: Invincible Kids and Bo.Monro.
‘ў Simple Pure Good, a solo act featuring Joel Drotos, class of 2004. An acoustic singer and songwriter, Drotos will perform original songs ‘” including numbers that reflect a Bob Dylan influence. ‘ў Bo.Monro, featuring Brown, class of 2003. Brown describes his style as ‘њinstrumental, progressive, rock.’ќ His music is influenced by Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, Sufjan Stevens, Tool and others.
‘ў The Invincible Kids, a dance band that consists of Drew Everett Phillips, class of 2002, on vocals and production; Cristos Lymperopoulos on guitar and synthesizer; and Adam Plantenberg on drums. The band’s music is described as ‘њfast, upbeat electropunk music. Very rockin’.'ќ The music is influenced by The Faint, Daft Punk, Green Day, Glassjaw and The Mars Volta.
‘ў Trapper Schoepp Band, an acoustic alternative band from Ellsworth that consists of Trapper Schoepp on lead vocals and guitar; his brother Tanner Schoepp on bass, alternate drums and vocals; David Boigenzahn on keyboard, guitar and vocals; Pat Sweeney on violin and mandolin; Lucas Cuddy on alternate bass; and Red Wing student David Dulak on drums.
