“Oh God, it was hell,” he says. “It was like a ‘Romper Room.’… No one stayed seated. They were always yelling. It was lunacy.” He thought he’d quit. Then he attended rehearsals for a production of “West Side Story,” directed by Jeanine Ecklund (who now choreographs the Show Choir that he also directs). He saw what students were capable of with proper guidance.
