In May 2007 a tour to the first ever German brass band contest held in the picturesque town of Wurzburg culminated in winning the second highest section of the contest playing Philip Sparke s Triptych and Peter Graham s Renaissance , a fine reward for the band and it s musical director Heinrich Schmidt for the intense preparation period.
