On Halloween night, the party begins in the early evening with Arts District galleries open late for trick-or-treating. The festival s three stages will offer an array of music, including African drumming, a cabaret, folk-rock artist Brett Dennen, the voodoo-bluesy Papa Mali, and Grateful Dead co-founder Bill Kreutzmann. Costume and jack-o-lantern contests are also scheduled.

The free live music on the streets will go until 10:30 p.m.; afterward, you can go see ticketed concerts at area venues, with acts including Maceo Parker and DJ Logic; Mad Professor Ariwa Dub Posse; and the Helio Sequence.
