The Happening in Phoenix to Celebrate Urban Life and Downtown Scene

Third Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts (PAPA) gives all members of our community the opportunity to demonstrate their uniqueness and creativity-and compete for awards-as they walk, ride, dance, or crawl along with the throngs parading through downtown. The World s-Only Parading Arts Fair (recognized as the Best Parade in Phoenix in the Phoenix New Times) begins at 7:30 p.m. at 5th St.

between Roosevelt and Garfield, preceded by more than three hours of merriment that include live music on the PAPA stage, costume and float displays and kids attractions. The parade is followed at 8:30 p.m. with a Main Stage headline performance by Grupo Liberdade, a performance group and artist collective dedicated to freedom of expression through movement and sound, that will also be leading the parade. The performance will be followed around 9:00 p.m. by the award ceremony.

PAPA is proudly presented by the Office of Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon and the Downtown Phoenix Partnership. Admission is free.
