Kenneth Kambwira and Leticia Giaccaboune from the central region and Mwai Mtutu from the north have qualified for the finals on the going Pop Music Star. Maranatha Katimba will represent the southern region in the finals to be held at the Capital Hotel on December 31. The winner will go away with the prize money of K100, 000.00 and a recording trip to Canada.

The Pop Music Star host Ice Jay speaking at the Capital Hotel in Lilongwe during Pop Music Star contest commended Malawi for being included in the international Pop Idol contest. I will make sure that the person who is going to represent Malawi will be given enough support from me and I also think the audience will give support to our representative, said Ice Jay.
