Mississauga heavy music act The End will treat fans to a show in Toronto this Thursday. Vocalist Aaron Wolff, guitarists Steve Watson and Andrew Hercules, bassist Sean Dooley and drummer Anthony Salajko are taking to the stage at the Opera House. Chimaira, Kataklysm and Terror are also on the bill. Earlier this year, The End released the 10-track album, Elementary , through Relapse Records.
Tracks, including Throwing Stones , The Never Ever Aftermath and Dangerous , can be heard by visiting www.myspace.com/theendmusic . Band members have said the name of the CD is reflective of the basic nature of the themes on the album, which include the dangers of idolatry, obsession and disillusionment. The End has garnered a fan base with its ability to assemble a collection of guitar, bass, drum and vocal tracks that rises above the usual chaos of heavy music.
The band’s debut album, Transfer Trachea Reverberations from Point: False Omniscient , was named as one of the 10 Essential Mathcore Albums by UK publication Metal Hammer . It also earned the 2001 Canadian Independent Music Award for Metal Album of the Year. The band released the follow-up, Within Dividia , in 2004. The End is part of the Dine Alone Records label in Canada, which is home to artists such as City Colour and Cancer Bats. Show time is 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $22-$27 and can be purchased at the door. For more information, visit www.allchaos.net .
