SATURDAY »BETHEL MENNONITE CHURCH, 18425 Runions Creek Road, Broadway, will host The Singing Men from Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community at 7 p.m. A free-will offering will be taken for the Good Samaritan Fund at VMRC. »BROADWAY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 107 E. Lee Street, will take part in the Broadway Fall Festival with a bake sale and fall bulb sale. Fresh hot cinnamon rolls and apple dumplings will be available all day.
»TRINITY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH is hosting its congregational retreat at 9 a.m. in Calvin at Massanetta Springs with groups sessions until noon. Following lunch, the groups will meet again until 3 p.m. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by a Harvest Party and games. On Sunday, worship will be held at 10:45 a.m. in Calvin with lunch to follow. Special music will be provided by Benny Roach. Guest speaker is the Rev. Lawrence Frye. Covered dish lunch will follow the service. There will be no Sunday school. »FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 611 Broad St., will celebrate its anniversary at 11 a.m. There will also be a consecration and installation of officers. The youth department will have a hallelujah harvest for the area youth of all ages from 6-8 p.m. »HARRISONBURG FIRST CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN will hold services at 10:30 a.m.
with David Radcliff as guest speaker. A soup and sandwich meal will follow the service. All proceeds from the meal will benefit Project Nimule. »JOHN WESLEY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Sterling and Effinger streets, will celebrate its 142nd anniversary at 3 p.m. The Rev. Lucy A. Jackson-Hughes of the United Methodist Staunton-Grottoes Charge, will be the guest speaker.
