Take it to the Streets With StreetStage
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Bon Jovi should look no further than Slippery When Wet for adulation. Lead singer Jason Morey is more than qualified to play the part of the ’80s rock star, having lived most of his life with frequent comparisons to the famous singer and even suffering from a case of mistaken identity by comedian Dave Chapelle.
With Anthony Cappolino on guitar, Brian Nielson on bass and Paul Sahlin on drums, Slippery When Wet proves that when you’re crazy enough about something, you can pursue just about any passion. The spirited band, used to playing to packed houses, will make an appearance at Andrews Upstairs tonight. Endorsed by Bon Jovi himself, these guys are as close to the original as can be, carrying out a fantastic live performance of the rock ‘n’ roll legacy.
They ain’t just gonna be another face in the crowd, so go and hear their voice when they shout it out loud. Tonight. 10 p.m. Andrews Upstairs. $10. 21+.
