I’m all about accuracy. If the university only squandered the paltry sum of $43 million, then I stand corrected. Oh yeah, I feel much better now. How about those donations though.

Couldn’t they have gone to scholarships? Modern dorms? Repair of run down buildings? Parking garages within walking distance of the university? How about improvements in the Science, Engineering or Business Departments? No, I think even the Rusts were taken by the idea of having a fancy place for some local high brow entertainment. I usually don’t like falling into the trap of comparing the elites to the common folk but I think in this situation it applies.
