Looking for new talk show episodes on this third week in October is like going to the bank on Columbus Day. The ‘closed’ sign comes as a surprise, and never seems explained enough to my satisfaction. Why exactly do all the talk shows take a break this week every year? Is it just a pre-November sweeps tune-up? Thankfully, it give my DVR a much needed break.

One thing I’ll still be recording, though, is the rebroadcast of Conan Wednesday night with New Zealand’s (and HBO’s) Flight Of The Conchords . New Zealand’s fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo appeared on the show a couple days after the premiere of their HBO series, and I inexplicably missed it . So consider this my attempt to correct the error. Now watch (and laugh).
