The museum is trying something different this year with Winter Legacies. Instead of spreading activities over three-day weekends in December as it has in the past, it’s concentrating them during the museum’s busiest week of the year, when attendance spikes to about 8,600. That compares with attendance during a typical week of 7,100, said Sara Stacy, the museum’s public information officer.
