Hall: I don’t download anything. I don’t listen to music. There’s so much peripheral music that I get way too much. It’s everywhere: on the Weather Channel, television, everywhere. I saw Joni Mitchell had an album out and she had “Big Yellow Taxi” on it, and I wondered how she did that — so I actively sought it out. But otherwise I don’t spend time sitting with music. I won’t say I’m aloof, but I separate myself from it. It allows me to be more in touch with my own creativity.
