The Stolen Mix Tape Idea
But the dilemma is that once you have done this you have essentially opened the floodgates; wham bam two years later Jo Whiley is inhaling deeply and whispering “epic” after each play of that track you used to love (and it averages a play about once every three hours).
I might tend to speak about radio one a little too much, but that’s because I think that they hold such a large sway in the music industry (and, like anybody who got a full-time job over the summer, found myself tuned in solidly for three months). But just look what Scott Mills did for Sean Kingston; I think we can all confidently say that song makes us all feel a little suicidal now.
But it’s exceptionally dangerous for one group of people to have such a huge influence in something like the music industry. I still hold the NME personally responsible for this ghastly torrent of what they call indie, the ‘the’ band trend.
