Well … actually … no. “Dan in Real Life” is a surprisingly soulful movie that takes its high-concept idea and turns it on its ear. It’s written and directed by indie filmmaker Peter Hedges (”Pieces of April”) who paired Carell with French beauty Juliette Binoche and hired a largely unknown Norwegian songwriter, Sondre Lerche, to provide the music.
