Flat Rock Playhouse, the State Theatre of North Carolina, will present Smokey Joe’s Cafй: The Songs of Leiber and Stoller onstage Wednesday through Nov. 4. Smokey Joe’s Cafй, Broadway’s longest-running musical revue, highlights the rock ‘n’ roll classics of the legendary song-writing duo, Leiber and Stoller. The two met as teens and fused their loves of jazz and blues with rock ‘n’ roll. Many performers, such as Elvis, the Drifters, the Coasters, Dion, Peggy Lee, Ben E.

King, Aretha Franklin and countless more embraced their writing in the 1950s and 1960s. This tribute to their music features 40 of their most-loved songs. Included numbers are Fools Fall In Love, Yakety Yak, Charlie Brown, Jailhouse Rock, Hound Dog, Love Potion #9, Spanish Harlem and Stand By Me.
