In “Making the Whole Town Read,” residents of the region select a single book for a joint-reading, Sept. 10. “Summit 2008″ convenes the same day. In most years, former Nobel Prize laureates meet in Rome for a discussion of major issues, but in 2008 they will hold their summit in Stavanger, addressing the topics of oil, war and peace (Sept. 10), the events of 9/11 (Sept. 11), and media and the young (Sept. 12).
