Even John and Mable show up
It was a day of great spectacles at a recent luncheon put on by the Women’s Council of Realtors at the Ritz, celebrating its 50th year. Hundreds gathered to enjoy a fashion show from Dillard’s, coordinated by Susan Little, and performances by Cirque Europa acrobats. John and Mable Ringling mingled through the crowd, and 16 vendors showed fun stuff throughout the foyer.
Guests loved the Chinese auction items and designer label handbags, especially Deb O’Mara, who found a pearl necklace donated by A. Tiffany and Son tucked inside the bag she won. It was also a chance for Ringling College students to do a show and sell their work. Andrew Vac emceed the show and announced that part of the proceeds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.
Among the guests welcomed by chairmen Barbara Robinson and Mark Conklin were incoming president Rosemary Mahoney, charter council member Norma Martin — “39 years old and holding” — who has been in Sarasota real estate for 52 years, outgoing council president Michelle Crabtree and Susie Bean, head of the Manatee County Women’s Council of Realtors.
For real estate types who didn’t get their fill of glam ensembles at the Ritz, Susie’s group is having “A Black and White Affair” fashion show at Lakewood Ranch CC Oct. 26. Back in action Girls Inc. is getting a new group together, with cause loyalists Cherie Leetzow, Carolyn Fitzpatrick and Lynette Mancuso doing the leading. The Directors Circle will be made up of past Coquille and GI board members. On the agenda: a Support-a-Girl Golf Tournament Oct.
