Many people get upset when a band cancels a scheduled concert, but when the cancellation comes too soon before the show itself, fans get mad, as is the case with wannabe concertgoers in Hawaii. That’s because last month, Aerosmith cancelled their only public concert in the state, a move fans say was unnecessary. Now, they’re fuming because of the money they lost due to the cancellation. While refunds were offered, many still couldn’t recoup the costs of plane tickets, car rentals and hotels, and now they’re suing the band for those expenditures. Fueling the fire is the fact that the band claimed they couldn’t play the concert because, logistically, they wouldn’t be able to get their equipment out to Hawaii in time, yet they still were able to perform at a private show on the island a couple days later. TheHawaiiChannel.com reports that under the state’s consumer law, each plaintiff in the case is eligible for up to triple their losses in damages and up to five-thousand dollars if over the age of 62. The lawsuit comes on behalf of all ticket holders, and there were quite a few of them. The Maui show was selling out and breaking box office records when it was cancelled. The magician’s attorney wouldn’t give specifics about the charge, saying only, “If in fact those are the allegations, unfortunately false allegations are all too often made against famous individuals. Mick Jagger ’s ex-wife Bianca is looking for a new place to stay today after getting evicted from her New York City apartment. The decision came after the state’s Supreme Court Appellate Division agreed with the owner of her building, that the apartment could not be Jagger’s primary residence since she was in America on a tourist visa. Bianca, a Nicaraguan who has British citizenship, can’t claim to the immigration residence rules as stated by her visa and also claim a primary residence in New York at the same time. Now, the court must figure out how much Jagger owes in back rent and legal fees since she stopped paying the 46-hundred dollars a month for her place in 2003, after claiming toxic mold made apartment unlivable and caused her to get sick. According to the Associated Press , Jagger’s lawyer feels this suit is in response to the personal injury case Bianca filed because of the mold. The result of that case is still pending.
