The developer of the Rock Band and Guitar Hero series has released a new music title for the Apple iPod system. Harmonix has developed rhythm action game Phase: The Music Is Your Game in a bid to win over music fans who are also gamers. The title, which costs Ј3.99 on iTunes, allows players to use the music tracks already stored on their iPod as the in-game playlist.

The gameplay involves matching the position of discs that flow towards you on a road by pressing the middle, left and right areas on the iPod wheel, then sliding your finger around to match up with moving sweeps of dots. Phase: The Music Is Your Game joins a growing number of games becoming available for the iPod, with titles such as The Sims already on sale.
