Five questions with Peter Morйn of Swedish indie-rock band Peter Bjorn & John

A: When we finished our second album, we really were proud of it and liked it and put it out on this mini-label in Sweden, and nothing much happened, of course. So for a period there, we were a bit burned out on the whole thing. We didn’t have any expectations at all, so we just recorded another album. Then all this stuff happened that we never foresaw. This is a much larger scale than we ever really imagined. That in the long run is good for the band because we can live out of it.

It’s a less pressing situation. It’s more kind of “OK, we can do this full time,” and it makes you more relaxed in a way. Which I think is good for relationships in the band as well because we’re happier — as musicians, anyway. The personal life might suffer sometimes.
