“I would say that San Francisco’s reputation, speaking generally, is as a very intelligent comedy scene,” he said in a phone interview. “It’s not an L.A. or Chicago, a big center, but not a middle state either, where’s there’s one club that everyone goes to and gets drunk. So many other cities have just the one laugh-track comedy club, where you pay $25 to get in. San Francisco could have that. I mean, there’s Cobb’s and the Punch Line. They could swallow up the whole thing.
