Rock the Dock this year will raise funds for perpetual care and landscaping costs for the memorial. Some proceeds from the party will go to the St. George fuel assistance program and the St. George ambulance service. Highlights of the event include raffles, the auctioning of a 14-foot skiff, and Port Clyde lobsterman Doug Anderson’s ‘њworld famous’ќ fish chowder. Barstow said there would be plenty of food, including child-friendly options.

The bands are The Maine Rockets, a rock ‘n’ roll and country outfit, and the Country Choir, playing bluegrass and country, said Barstow. There will be a brief memorial ceremony at 5 p.m. during which a commemorative wreath will be thrown off the end of the dock. Admission to Rock the Dock is by donation.
