Cast to perform songs from the all-time musical greats

Rehearsals are well underway for a gala concert to be staged by the Bray Musical Society in the Royal Hotel next weekend. The show will take place on Sunday and Monday night when a cast of over 25 people ranging in age from six to 60 will perform a selection of songs from the great musicals such as Les Miserables, South Pacific and Mama Mia.

The team of soloists and chorus members will also do some dancing, perform some duets as well as solo pieces and hope to raise some funds to cover the costs of their next production in April. The production team consists of Elizabeth Gregan, Carl Kelly, Barry Quinn and Ciara Heaslip who all give up so much of their time and energy, year-in year-out, to put on entertaining pieces and put together fantastic shows.

Vice Chairperson of the committee Clodagh Egan said that the group is always fundraising by holding such events as table quizzes and raffles as the costs incurred in putting on a musical can be so high. She mentioned that the group is not eligible for funding as it is not a dramatic society. Performers on the two nights will include Barry Quinn, Amanda Anderson and Paula and Catherine Gregan, as well as Carl Kelly and David Egan.
