I want to acknowledge the generosity of the Inland Hospital and Affiliated Health Care for the excellent string concert and clinic held recently at Messalonskee High School for regional schools. Very few students, let alone adults, get a chance to view a string group such as was represented at the concert. The Bangor Symphony Orchestra String Quartet and the Franklin County Fiddlers (consisting of students in this particular group) were “spot on” and well-received by our students.

This concert was a cultural blessing, and our students were the direct beneficiaries of Inland’s generosity. I am sure many readers share my sentiments regarding the need to support live musical performances of this nature. A big hat-tip needs to go to the concert sponsors for their continued support of young people and the arts.
