Celtic concert Sunday at the plaza
The concert — which is from 2 to 5 p.m. — will feature three acts: Mithril, Red McWilliams and Sweet Prospect. Tom Morley, of Mithril, had proposed the idea of a Celtic concert, recreation programs Coordinator Megan Matrone said. “Celtic music is becoming very popular now and we wanted to do something for Daphne,” Morley said. The genre celebrates Scottish and Irish traditions, according to Matrone.
Mithril — which plays instruments and does not sing — has been together for about five years, Morley said. “Our job is to try and bring Celtic music to as wide of an audience as possible,” he said. The Eastern Shore band uses traditional Celtic instruments like the wooden Irish flute, an Irish drum called a bodhran and a Celtic harp that is tuned for each song, Morley said.
