Arena adds more seats to Hannah concert

Good news/bad news for Hannah Montana fans. The Target Center has several hundred newly released seats to the tween pop star’s Oct. 21 concert going on sale today at 9 a.m. Unfortunately, a limited number of wristbands — which are needed to guarantee a place in line — became available with only an hour’s notice on Friday starting at 5 p.m. Arena staff expected the wristbands to be all gone by Friday night.

“People are already lining up,” Target Center publicist Courtney Hasko said soon after the news release went out Friday afternoon. The real-life Miley Cyrus , who plays the title role on the popular Disney Channel TV show “Hannah Montana,” turned out to be the hottest concert ticket of the year with her dual-personalities tour. New seats to many of her shows around the country were released Friday after the layout of her stage and production setup was finished.

Lucky wristband holders are advised to line up outside the Minneapolis arena by 8 a.m. Saturday, when a random number on the wristbands will be chosen to mark the start of the line. As for the unlucky parents hoping to still get tickets, these new seats could at least lessen the demand among newly legalized ticket scalpers, who are cleaning up with this show by selling some tickets for more than $1,000.
