But this flood of indistinguishable junk rock only exposes artists that refuse to submit to formula, and this year’s festival was fortunately rife with bands that definitely have something new and interesting to contribute. The best of these was Brooklyn country rockers O’Death.

4:50 p.m. Oct. 20 — The DanzJazz Dance Studio & Entertainment Company will hold its eighth annual dance concert on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the GATE Theatre, Tiyan. There will be a 2 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. show, and tickets are $10 per adult and $7 per child age 12 younger.
